We have introduced additional cleaning measures here at Pitcairlie House to keep both our guests and our staff safe.

Infection prevention for coronavirus depends on a strict hygiene, cleaning and disinfection. The cleaning of all objects and surfaces is required frequently to prevent the transmission of the disease.

Safety of our guests and staff has always been really important for us and so all our rooms in the main house, apartments and cottage will be thoroughly cleaned to ASSC Guidelines, including fogging, which is the spraying of a high-grade disinfectant.

Our disinfecting machine rapidly sprays an Anti-Viral disinfectant solution throughout a room, which clings to surfaces hard or soft, without causing any harm and offers a full covering of disinfectant. We are sure this will become the our new standard or ‘new normal’ for all properties in the future.

We want you to know that we are doing everything we can to welcome you to Pitcairlie House, in a safe and clean environment.

Things you should know prior to your stay:

All properties need to be vacant for 24 hours in-between guests.

Due to COVID restrictions, there are some things we are unable to provide during your stay with us, these things include, hair dryers, toilet roll, shampoo’s, conditioners and soaps. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause but we are trying our best to comply with government guidelines to keep both our staff and our guests safe!

As we are solely self-catering, we have a “No Contact Check-in”. This means that when you arrive you will not come into contact with any of our staff, your apartment will be open with the keys inside. We have new sign posts directing you clearly to the correct apartment.

We do provide towels, but if you wish to bring your own, you are more than welcome! If you are using the hot tub, we would recommend bringing extra towels regardless!

There is no doubt that COVID-19 has forced a monumental shift in the tourism and events industry and as we look to the ending of lockdowns in destinations around the world, we must consider what will the tourism business will look like in the months to come and how this will affect our business here at Pitcairlie House.

Since the easing of lockdown in the UK, we have received a large increase in new booking enquiries. As a self-catering venue rather than a hotel, Pitcairlie House is ideally situated in 100 acres of fields, woods and lakes, so plenty of fresh air and space for walks, fishing, playing games and making camps in the woods. All the apartments, cottage and the main house are totally independent and self-contained, so social distancing is assured.

Hygiene is at the forefront of our minds and something we have always taken seriously. You only have to look at the comments on TripAdvisor to see that all our accommodation is spotlessly clean and we will make every effort to ensure that this high standard continues in the future.

We will also be keeping up to date with new legislation as it is released and we will ensure that Pitcairlie House is fully compliant with the needs of your safety and ours.

Throughout the last few months, we have been keeping Pitcairlie House looking smart with a new coat of paint and the parklands surrounding us are being continually looked after as you would expect.

Summer is not over yet and with international travel becoming more difficult, there is no better substitute than the Scottish Highlands!

So, a good time to book a family holiday or a special event and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

We are so pleased that we are still able to hold micro-weddings here at Pitcairlie House. With rules and regulations ever changing we understand how frustrating it can be when you are planning your big day. The current rules and regulations mean that you can have up to 20 guests at your wedding. This excludes catering staff and any children under 12 but includes your photographer. We need to ensure that all guidelines are met to ensure the safety of our staff and guests.

Group Bookings

Due to the nature of our accommodation,  we have a lot of larger group bookings. We need to ensure all bookings adhere to the latest guidelines. All bookings must be under 6 guests and come from one household. When at Pitcairlie we kindly ask you to be considerate of other guests staying at the house and please ensure social distancing measures are in place.
